For the past 12 months, K Sharp has been leading a Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) funded project: Crowd Resilience through iBeacons. This project has developed a system that utilises existing Beacons (technology that emits a Bluetooth signal) to enable the general public to learn to spot terrorist threats, report suspicious behaviour and receive important security alerts through a smartphone app and web-based cloud-server system, enabling venues such as City Centres, shopping centres, and sports stadia to engage with residents and visitors to improve the safety and security of the crowd.
Amanda, our Research Director, along with Clare, were invited to share the DASA stand at the International Security Expo 2018 at Olympia, London in November to present and demonstrate the capability we have developed alongside our partners Daden and Marketing Gloucester.
